Premier League TV Fixture Announcement Dates 2026/27: When Kickoff Times Are Confirmed

When Premier League 2026/27 TV fixtures are announced, what confirmed and provisional mean, why matches move, and when fans should book travel.

Premier League TV Fixture Announcement Dates 2026/27: When Kickoff Times Are Confirmed

Premier League TV fixture announcement dates are rolling planning targets, not one season-wide confirmation day. For 2026/27, the league says it aims to confirm UK broadcast selections about six weeks before each round before January and about five weeks ahead from January onward. A published target can still slip when European competitions, cups, policing or operational decisions are unresolved.

Verification note: The official fixture list and the league's fixture-change explainer are the controlling sources. This guide was checked on 5 August 2026.

Premier League TV announcement timing at a glance

Part of seasonLeague planning targetWhat supporters should do
Rounds before JanuaryAbout six weeks before the roundWait for a named broadcaster and exact kickoff before booking inflexible travel
Rounds from January onwardAbout five weeks before the roundExpect less notice and recheck around UEFA and FA Cup dates
Opening roundsOften selected around fixture releaseVerify on the official list; opening TV games may already be labelled
Final weeksCan depend on title, Europe and relegationKeep plans flexible because sporting outcomes influence selections

These are useful windows, not guarantees. The league publishes provisional targets to help match-going supporters plan, but it does not promise that every affected match will be final on that date.

What counts as confirmed?

A fixture is meaningfully more settled when it has an exact date, kickoff time and broadcaster, and it carries no conditional note. On the released list, a plain Saturday entry without a time normally reflects the default 15:00 UK slot rather than a season-long broadcast decision.

  • Provisional: the opponent and match round are official, but date or kickoff may move.
  • TV selected: a broadcaster and slot have been announced.
  • Conditional: the listing explains how a cup or European result could move it again.
  • Postponed: the original slot is no longer usable and a new date may be pending.

Why Premier League fixtures move after release

UK television is only one cause. Sky Sports and TNT Sports select live matches, while the Saturday 15:00 blackout prevents domestic live coverage in the 14:45–17:15 window. European competition recovery time can push a Saturday game to Sunday; FA Cup progression, police advice, supporter travel and stadium events can also alter a slot.

The UK rights packages cover a minimum of 267 live games in 2026/27—at least 215 on Sky and 52 on TNT—so movement from the default list is normal rather than exceptional.

  3. Look for a named UK broadcaster, exact kickoff and any asterisk or conditional note.
  4. Avoid non-refundable rail, flight or hotel bookings while a match is still provisional.
  5. Recheck the week of the match, particularly after UEFA or FA Cup draws.

Frequently asked questions

When are Premier League TV fixtures announced?

Usually around six weeks before rounds before January and five weeks from January onward, according to the league's planning target.

Is a Saturday 3pm fixture confirmed?

Not necessarily. It is often the default slot until broadcast and operational decisions are completed.

Can a televised match move again?

Yes. UEFA scheduling, domestic cups, policing and other operational issues can create a later amendment.

Where can I see today's confirmed channel?

Use the TV schedule page and verify the listing against the league or broadcaster close to kickoff.
